HI,, This Tuesday , Nov. 27, we will discuss the Little Book of the Odd Month Club selection, Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. “Published in 1962, Silent Spring shocked the public and forced the government to take action – despite a withering attack on Carson from the chemicals industry. The book awakened the world to the heedless contamination of the environment and eventually led to the establishment of the EPA and to the banning of DDT and a host of related pesticides.” Have things gotten better? Worse? Come and discuss what has happened since Carson's book. On Dec. 11, we have the honor of having Laird and Robin Monaghan , the 2 brothers who walked across the US to spread the word about Move to Amend. Please spread the word about this salon. Thanks, Patty
