Hi Dave, Patty, Rhoda and Diane,Here are the reasons why am running as a write in candidate against Rep. Betty McCollum. We need single payer health care! • The U.S. ranks 47th in life expectancy • 41st in infant mortality • 37th overall in World health Organization ratings • 12th among 13 industrialized countries in critical health indicatorsRep. Betty McCollum is running unopposed; she is very safe to win re-election. The safety of her office has led Betty McCollum to be very complacent and inactive about single payer health care. She has refused to co-sponsor Dennis Kucinich’s single payer bill H.R. 676. She will not listen to her constituents who ask her to please co-sponsor H.R. 676. MUHCC (Minnesota universal health care coalition) has had many forums about single payer health care, and has invited Rep. Betty McCollum. MUHCC did meet with aides of Rep. Betty McCollum to discuss single payer health care, and still no action from Rep. McCollum. We have to get the attention of Rep. Betty McCollum! What is the one way to get a politician’s attention? Run against them. The number of write in votes for Amber Garlan will be recorded. This will let Rep. Betty McCollum know that her constituents are serious about single payer health care, even though she is not.Peace, Amber “Medicare for all” Garlan Hi again everybody,If you want to edit this, or if I made any mistakes that need to be corrected, please let me know. The statistics are from Dr. Robert Nesheim, Minnesota Medial Association. Dr. Nesheim is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association and has written a proposal to have the MMA adopt single payer health care.Peace, Amber
