HI, this Tuesday, May 22, we will have an evaluation salon. Please come and lets share how the salons are doing and what we could be doing differently. Thanks. (probably end up talking about politics!!)

Next Tuesday, Polly Mann will be there and her play titled John Peter Zenger will be read by some people. Here is the gist of it:

The play, based on an actual historical event involving John Peter Zenger, takes place in 1735 when the US was still part of the British Empire. Zenger was a German immigrant printer who established the first partisan political journal in the US, The New York Weekly Journal, in which he is accused of corrupting the governor of New York, an appointee of the King. Zenger was tried for printing libelous material. The verdict set the precedent for an important principle of law still in effect today. Much of the material came from transcripts of the trial.
