What Will the 21st Century Bring for the Human Race? A Socialist
Perspective
Friday, June 17, 7:00 pm Mayday Bookstore 301 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis
Hear: Jeff Mackler, National Secretary, Socialist Action
Jeff Mackler has been a leading socialist activist for 50 years

Already in its first decade, the 21st century has introduced or
accelerated new imperialist wars, global warming and climate change,
catastrophic industrial-based pollution, nuclear meltdown, pandemic
diseases and a deepening inability of the capitalist system to meet basic
human needs. Does the socialist perspective of a new world of abundance,
free of violence, and based on human solidarity remain a real possibility?
What can be done to advance the cause of human liberation?

Dear CTUL Friends and Allies,
We need your support! Join CTUL, allies and Netroots participant to raise
money for CTUL at this fundraiser with live music and DJ, featuring
netroots participant Jasiri X. $10 donation at the door.

CTUL Fundraiser
Friday June 17th 9pm - Midnight
Gethsemane Episcopal Church
905 4th Ave S (Downtown Minneapolis)
Please note the change of address from the fist announcem ent.

With the help of CTUL, workers who clean Cub Foods stores have been trying
for over a year to engage Cub in a dialogue about fair wages and working
conditions.

Also with the help of CTUL, workers went on Hunger Strike for 12 days
beginning at the end of May in a further effort to seek a dialogue. Now
the parent company of Cub, SuperValu, is suing CTUL and its organizers
personally.

We need to raise money to help CTUL and its organizers to defend
themselves against SuperValu's lawsuit and to provide further support
to the movement for workplace fairness that CTUL has been leading.

If you are not able to come but would like to make a donation, you can
mail a check made out to CTUL to 2511 E. Franklin Ave, Mpls, MN 55406 or
click here to contribute online (it will say WIN but all money goes to
CTUL)

CTUL is renting the use of this technology from SEIU Local 26. Please see
