I am sending this to the listserve for the salon because this is what some of us at the salon have been working on, and the rest who receive this might want to help out w/the petition drive when it comes.
Thanks,

patty

Subject: No Stadium Tax Coalition news

Dear friend,

You've most likely heard the news from the Governor's office that the
legislature does not have enough support to override the provision in state
law requiring a vote on local sales taxes and that there will not be a
special session before Thanksgiving.

Your efforts were a big part of this. Thank you for volunteering, spreading the word to friends and neighbors, and contacting your elected officials.

While this is very good news, it is not over yet. There will still be a
petition, but now we have more time to strategize and work around the
upcoming holidays.

When the petition is ready, we are going to need a LOT of signatures in a SHORT time. With winter approaching, this will be a challenge. We need your help. Please spread the word to at least 10 friends (in Ramsey County) or neighbors and ask them to email me if they support our efforts. Ask them
to contact 10 more.

This is a grass roots effort. We've already seen that we can make a
difference. Let's keep those roots spreading!

If you haven't already done so, it would also be helpful if you would call, email, or write a letter to your State Senator, State Representative and
Governor Dayton. They need to hear from the people!

Because we want to keep our volunteers and supporters up to date on the progress of our petition drive and aware of volunteer opportunities, without bothering those who do not, we created a google group that will be used to
send out periodic updates.

If you would like email updates, please go to

If not, there are two other options you can use to keep informed:

 - Our website has a lot of good background information:

 - Our facebook page has updates and tips:

Thank you for your support on this important issue!
