HI,  Next Tuesday, Aug. 17,  Peter Erlinder will be our speaker and  
guest.  His topic will be "Events in the Congo and their meaning for  
progressives in the US."   Peter was held prisoner in Rwanda recently  
for his investigational inquiry into the genocide there.  Peter says  
about the Congo, "there are 10 million dead and counting,"  The 21st  
Century and US military strategy for this part of the world is very  
important to learn about.


Next week we will watch the film, Rethink Afghanistan a documentary by  
Robert Greenwald.
