Subject: [T3] Bannering against torture

ANTI-TORTURE BANNERING DURING THE RNC

We have 4 huge banners the size of bed sheets which speak out against torture.

The banners say, "TORTURE DESTROYS US ALL", "TORTURE IS WRONG"; "TORTURE DOESN'T WORK", "WOULD JESUS WATERBOARD?"; "WOULD JESUS TORTURE?", "CLOSE GUANTANAMO"; "CLOSE GITMO". We will be displaying these banners each morning during the RNC. The location of this bannering will be on the Gateway Bike Trail bridge over 35E just north of downtown St. Paul. It will take 8 people to display these banners each day. Please call us or email us if you can commit to bannering with us on one or more of these days:

Saturday, Aug 30, 9 to 11 AM

Sunday, Aug 31, 8 to 10 AM

Monday, Sept 1, 8 to 10 AM

Tuesday, Sept 2, 9 to 11 AM

   Wednesday, Sept 3, 9 to 11 AM

Thursday, Sept 4, 9 to 11 AM

The Gateway Bike Trail bridge over 35 E is just north of downtown St. Paul, between the exit for Maryland Ave and the exit for Wheelock Avenue. Arlington Avenue crosses 35 E just south of the bike path, but has no exit. There should be plenty of parking near the bike bridge even though the RNC is going on.

Thanks to Colleen Rowley and Ross for providing 3 of the 4 banners and for helping us with this project in so many ways, big and small.

Call or email Roger Cuthbertson, 952-474-2476, rojo [at] visi.com, if you can volunteer to banner with us on one of the above dates. If the schedule above doesn't fit your calendar, there might be opportunities for bannering and message kite lying. Give us a call. Thanks much. Roger Cuthbertson, Tackling Torture at the Top (a committee of Women Against Military Madness)
