Hi, the Tuesday, Sept 6 Conversational Salon will have Elizabeth
Dickinson, candidate for St Paul Mayor as the guest.
Next Tuesday will be two people from Cambodia who will tell their story of growing up in Cambodia, their escape to Thailand, their life as refugees. Their story is the truth of their lives.
From time to time i will add a sentence or 2 from the last weeks salon. Since most of the people on this email list never make it to a salon, i thought i would just let you know a bit re. the information gleaned from the salon. Like last week's presentation by Lisa Ledwidge on Nuclear Weapons. Did you know that there are 22,000 Nuclear Weapons through the world and that 4,000 of them are on hair-trigger alert? And, that the financial cost annually of preparing for Nuclear War in the US is ( in 1996 dollars), $35 billion dollars? There are things one can do. Go to ierr [at] ierr.org to find out how. In light of the tragedy of this week, it is important to know and act.
