HI, The Conversational SAlon, Tuesday, Jan. 4, will be the beginning of a series of salons on the essay by Martin Luther King called The World House. It is the last chapter of the last book he wrote called Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community, published in 1967. I will have copies of this essay available which i ordered from Fellowship of Reconciliation for $.50 each. Or it can be found on the internet. We will read and study once a month for , well, we don't know. The essence of this essay describes the enormous challenges facing humanity and how we must face them. This is the 40th anniversary of Dr. King's World House vision. He suggests that we have inherited a large house in which we must learn to live together in peace--black, white, Easterner, Westerner, Gentile, Jew, Muslim, Hindu-a family separated in ideas, culture and interest. The 3 great problems facing humanity are: racism, poverty/materialism and war. Conversations about these things can lead to better understanding. Mad Hatter's Tea House is at 943 W 7th, St Paul. Time is 6:30 to 8:30PM phone 651-227-3228 or 651-227-2511 Tea and treats will be served and a small donation is appreciated. thanks, patty
