She Kills Monsters

Gadfly Theatre Company presents “She Kills Monsters”; the first
show in their new home, The Fox Egg Gallery at 3730 Chicago Ave S. They
will be performing October 7-10 and October 14-16. All shows are 7:30 PM
except for Sundays which are at 3:00 PM.

Agnes Evans is a normal girl, but this is not a normal play. Seeking
reconnection with her recently deceased sister, Agnes delves into the world
Tilly left behind. The fact that it’s a Dungeons and Dragons game means
faeries and ogres pull the audience from their seats and into a fantasy
land where grief battles ghosts. Humor, loss, hand to hand combat, and some
casual 90s references collide in Gadfly’s reimagining of “She Kills
Monsters.”

Starring Mindy Vang and Morgen Chang as the aforementioned sisters and a
stellar cast of youth and adults that also includes Justin Betancourt,
Armando Ronconi, Michaela Long, Jordan Mattson, Taelyn Gore, Siddeeqah
Shabazz, Kellin Robinson, Alex Hervin, and Thomas Bertron. This cast uses
age appropriate actors and welcomed performers of incredibly minimal
experience alongside theatre veterans like Chang.

Gadfly Theatre is a company dedicated to queer, feminist art that creates
opportunities for queer and marginalized artists, opening their seventh
season with “She Kills Monsters”. This activity is made possible by the
voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts
Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural
heritage fund.
