vigilant against US war on peoples anywhere. We are alarmed that the same
[16]weapons of war we deplore, yet pay for, [17]have come home to be used
in the US by federal, state, county and local law enforcement. We will
walk against all weapons, including the use of drones for surveillance, and

May 30th is WAMM's 8th Annual Walk Against Weapons.

Longtime peacemaker Marie Braun really walks her talk, year after year. If
you can't be out there with her and WAMM May 30th, [23]help us out with
this major annual fundraiser and the necessary work of peacemaking. Here's
some of the reasons Marie walks:

I WALK to end the scourge of war

I WALK to say “no” to the arms race and the squandering of scarce dollars
on the weapons of war

I WALK for the children and for women who are always the first victims of

And, for those who live under the shadow of U.S. militarism and U.S.
predator drones with their hellfire missiles

I WALK for the children of military families who suffer the blowback of war
when their parents come home

I WALK so our children can have a roof over their heads, good schools,
health care, clean air

And, I WALK so all children may experience the joy of peace, the wonder of
connecting with peoples and cultures around the world, and for the survival
of our amazing planet earth.

9. Al Nakba Protest: Say No to U.S. Aid to Israel!

Friday, May 15, 4:30 p.m. outside the office of Senator Klobuchar, 1200
Washington Ave S., Mpls. May 15, 1948, marked the end of British Mandate
over Palestine, and the establishment of the state of Israel on Palestinian
land. This day is marked as Al Nakba, Arabic for The Catastrophe. During
the 1948 war, at least 750,000 Palestinian men, women, and children were
ruthlessly attacked, massacred, and driven from their homes into refugee
camps, and have never been allowed to return, in violation of international
law. From 1948 through 2013, Israel had received $233.7 billion in U.S.
aid, which is used to occupy Palestine. That number compounds every day, as
2015 marks 67 years of US-backed Israeli occupation. Show your solidarity
with Palestine, say NO to U.S. aid to Israel. Sponsored by Anti-War
Committee, endorsed by the [25]Middle East Committee of WAMM.

S., Mpls. Steve McKeown is a Vietnam War Vet, long-time peace activist and
founding member of Veterans for Peace, Chapter 27. Coming from a faith
perspective, he has worked on a number of issues, including disarmament of
conventional and nuclear weapons; has been involved in the movement to
close the School of the Americas; promoted Armistice Day remembrances and
