situation of more than 400,000 refugees without access to shelter, food, safe

U.S. All women and children are invited to join in solidarity in this peace
rally for Somali women and children and for all women and children victims of
war. Participants are asked to respect the request of organizers, who are
immigrants, for a solemn, quiet vigil without loud chants or signs criticizing

WAMM's Ongoing Vigils: Please join us. Victims of U.S. policy need you now more
than ever!

Vigil to End the Occupation of Iraq Every Wednesday, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Lake
Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge, spanning the Mississippi River between
Minneapolis and St. Paul. Come to Marshall Avenue (St. Paul) side of the bridge
so that we can greet you. According to Iraqi-American Sami Rasouli, "Sday after
day for the last three years and a half or so, by storming houses; detaining
innocent people; killing innocent people-women, children; bombing them from the
air or from the land; peppering the Iraq cities, provinces; dominating people
by checkpointSWe are not stupid hereSIraqis are asking the U.S. to
leaveSAmerican media talk about this with limitation, but what we see here are
corpses and dead bodiesS" Rasouli says if U.S. troops withdrew from Iraq, "The
1,300 al Qaeda members that the Iraq Study Group mentioned would leaveS They
are here to target American forces." Short gathering in a circle east of the
bridge after the vigil to hear about more peace and justice events and issues.
Let us Minnesotans show our representatives in Washington that we want an end
to the war and occupation of Iraq not later, after even more death and
destruction, but NOW! FFI: Call WAMM 612-827-5364. Join us for these special
upcoming events at the bridge: Wednesday, June 6 End the occupations of
Palestine and Iraq. Resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is
intimately linked to U.S. policy in the Middle East and ending the war on Iraq.
Wednesday, June 13 Join with others in their orange jumpsuits and black hoods
to make the connection between the war on Iraq, the war on terror, and the
justification of torture by the Bush Administration. Wednesday, July 4 Join in
a special "Peace is Patriotic" vigil. Wednesday, July 11 People of Faith Speak
Out Against the War On Iraq. Churches are invited to bring their banners and
join together in speaking out against the war. FFI: Twin Cities Peace
Campaign-Focus on Iraq at 612-522-1861.

Vigil to End the Siege of Gaza and Occupation of Palestine Every Friday, 4:15
to 5:30 p.m. Summit and Snelling Avenues, St. Paul. Israel has sealed off Gaza
from the outside world while the international community has imposed brutal
sanctions, ravaging Gaza's already impoverished economy." "Gaza is dying,"
Patrick Cockburn reported in The Independent, "Its people are on the edge of
starvationSA whole society is being destroyedSThe sound that Palestinians most
dread is an unknown voice on their cell phone saying they have half an hour to
leave their home before it is hit by bombs or missiles. There is no appeal." We
will not do nothing while Palestinians are suffering a slow (or fast) death
with U.S. military weapons and tax dollars.
