An Evening of Live Music, Poetry & a few Spells in honor of Peace on Earth.

Poetry:  3 distinguished poets from Minnesota Poets against War:

Richard Broderick is the author of Night Sale and Woman Lake and
therecipient of numerous awards for his writing. He is founder of Minnesota
Poets Against War.

Kathryn Kysar's book Dark Lake was published by Loonfeather Press in 2002.
Her award-winning poems have been featured on Garrison Keillor's A Writer's
Almanac. Her work was recently anthologized in To Sing Along the Way:
Minnesota Women Poets from Pre-territorial Days to the Present. Kysar has
held residencies at Norcroft, Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, and the
Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. She is currently editing an
anthology of essays by Midwestern women writers about their mothers.

Thomas R. Smith is a poet and critic living in River Falls, Wisconsin. His
five books of poems are Keeping the Star (New Rivers Press, 1988), Horse of
Earth (Holy Cow! Press, 1994), The Dark Indigo Current (Holy Cow!Press,
2000), Winter Hours (Red Dragonfly Press, 2005), and Waking Before Dawn (Red
Dragonfly Press, 2007). His work has been featured on Garrison Keillor's A
Writer's Almanac. He teaches at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis.

A Few Spells: with singing, prayer and chanting we will re-member the legacy
of Peace-Makers from Jesus-Buddha-Lao Tzu to Thoreau-Gandhi-King and You!
