The  weekend conference is geared to bring together youth (16 yrs of age and  
older) to develop goals for promoting nonviolence strategic action in  
schools, communities and the world. The specific aim of the conference is  to 
involve youth in exploring the nature and importance of nonviolence as  a 
creative, 
powerful, and effective process for addressing and resolving  conflicts.

KICK  OFF EVENT: WAKE UP WAL-MART BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN 
Back to School  shopping generates billions of dollars in sales. This event 
is our chance  to spread the word to shoppers that purchasing school clothes 
and supplies  at Wal-Mart supports Wal-Mart’s destructive practices and bad 
neighbor  policies. Campaign will last two weeks. Tuesday event includes a 
brief  
press conference and canvassing. UUs are encouraged to participate and  link 
this action with UUJEC’s Big Box Campaign (see below).  UUJEC and UFCW are 
making plans to  work collaborative to fight box box retailers.
