Untitled StationeryThought you'd want to know about this: RED LAKE MEMORIAL SERVICE: The Diocese of Minnesota will host a Memorial and Healing Service for the Red Lake Nation on Saturday, April 23, at 3:00 PM at St. Mark?s Cathedral. The purpose of the service will be for people in the Metro Area, including the many members of the Red Lake Nation who reside here, to have an opportunity to mourn and remember together and to have an opportunity for the beginning of some healing that has taken place on the Reservation through the services there. The service is being planned by the Bishop James Jelinek and several Native American Episcopal priests in the Diocese. It will feature Native drumming and hymns as well as dramatic banners, hung in the Cathedral representing the ?four directions.? There will be four speakers, representing the Red Lake Tribal Government, traditional Native spirituality, the Roman Catholic Church and the Episcopal Church. In keeping with Tribal custom, the liturgy ?will continue? with a Native feast for all in attendance. Volunteers are needed to greet and direct guests, serve the feast and assist with cleanup. Greeters are needed from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. Servers are needed by 3:30 PM. All are invited to assist with cleanup. This will be a wonderful opportunity to show hospitality to many guests including members of the Red Lake Nation.
