5. Tackling Torture at the Top Video Contest

WAMM’s Tackling Torture at the Top ([4]T3) committee announces a video
contest on the subject of torture and torture accountability. The jury
consists of international experts on film and on the torture issue,
including Prof. Peter Kuznick, American University, co-writer of the 10
part TV series “The Untold History of the United States” (2012), Sebastian
Doggart, director of the critically acclaimed documentary “American Faust:
>From Condi to Neo-Condi” (2009), longtime peace activist, Andy Worthington,
and Joseph Jolton, Minneapolis filmmaker and instructor video arts at
Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the Blake School. Winners will be
feted at Twin Cities events on June 26th, the UN-designated Torture

6. The Son of Eilaboun: A Documentary

Saturday, February 14, 9:30 a.m. (refreshments) 10:00 a.m. (presentation
and discussion). Southdale Hennepin County Library, 7001 York Avenue South,
Edina. A touching documentary by Palestinian film maker Hisham Zreik The
Son of Eilaboun tells the story of Eilaboun a small Palestinian town in the
North Galilee which was ruthlessly attacked, brutalized and dispossessed by
the Israeli Defense Forces in 1948. Sponsored by: Middle East Peace Now

will address supporters and respond to questions via livestream. The event
will also feature local anti-war activists targeted by 2010 FBI raids & and
a grand jury investigation, who will address how folks in Minneapolis can
support Rasmea with her March 12 sentencing hearing that will take place in

8.  1st Annual Women’s Memorial March: "Sing Our Rivers Red -  Twin Cities"

Saturday February 14, 11:30am, starting with water ceremony, at the
Minneapolis American Indian Center, 1530 E Franklin Ave. The march will be
in step with "Sing Our Rivers Red" annual recognition marches held on this
date throughout the US and Canada to grieve the loss of Native and First
Nation women and remember the women who are still missing. All women are
encouraged to journey and heal together on this day because women face
physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual violence on a daily basis. FFI:
