"How to Lose the War on Terror"

presented by

Dean Hutson, Franklin Pierce Law Center
Tuesday, March 25, 11:30-1:00 P.M.
at
Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP
2800 LaSalle Plaza, 800 LaSalle Avenue

Minneapolis, MN

Description of the Lecture

The lecture will address the impact of the "Global War on Terror" on the Rule of
Law and Human Rights. An expert in all areas of military law and a noted
commentator
on matters of national interest relating to the military, human rights, and the
rule of law, Dean Hutson, will discuss how giving up those ideas and ideals that
make us strong, our greatest weapons, is how we can lose the "war" on terror.
He will discuss why the manner in which we prosecute the war changes the nature
of who we are and may lead to "national suicide;" and, how once we devalue the
Rule
of Law and Human Rights for some people, it becomes much easier to devalue them
for all people.
