Professors Castro and Prevost will discuss the just concluded 2013 Congress
of the Latin American Studies Association in Washington, DC. Scholars from
Cuba and around the world participated in the Cuba section of the congress.

Panel topics included an assessment of US-Cuba “academic diplomacy,” recent
trends in the historiography of Cuba, such as the study of race relations,
and the experiences of Cuban academics who have conducted research in the
United States.
