Utopia 9.12 7pm

Presentation and Discussion: “The Utopian Vision: Making it Happen”
Wednesday, September 12, 7:00 p.m. Mayday Books, 301 Cedar Avenue South,
Minneapolis.

In this session of "Building Utopia" we discuss the strategy for how to
realize a utopian vision. The world does not lack for proposals to replace
patriarchy. History chronicles many people who have designed an egalitarian
model for society founded on the equitable sharing of labor and the
sustainable use of resources. But history is short on people who have a
plan to bring it off, a strategy of implementation, a way to realize the
vision and make it happen. "Building Utopia" takes up this challenge. Jeff
Mincey will give a brief opening presentation and then facilitate a
discussion. Sponsored by: Building Utopia. FFI: Email jmincey [at]

Solidarity Against State Repression
Thursday, September 13th noon- 1pm @ Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S 5th St
Come out to show resistance to state repression and let our friends know
that we support them in these difficult times. From the Midwest to the
Northwest - from the anti-war movement to Occupy, let’s create a culture of
resistance by showing solidarity with those who have their backs against
the wall. This action is in solidarity with activists resisting grand
juries & facing charges for Occupy protests. FFI:

ASDIC Antiracism Study-Dialogue Circle begins 9.13

You are warmly invited to be part of our ASDIC Circle this fall, as we seek
to more fully understand the ways race and racism are operating in our
lives.

Reflective and highly interactive, the award-winning ASDIC Circle
experience follows a carefully designed sequence of shared study, dialogue,
exercises and action planning. Over twelve weeks we read selected writings
by leading scholars (300+ pages) and examine the particular nature of our
personal, organizational and community settings. As a result of our shared
work, we develop greater clarity of thinking, strength of relationship, and
effectiveness of action to address systemic racism. ASDIC Circles are
widely described as transformative by participants.

When: Thursday evenings, 5:30-8:30pm, beginning September 13, ending
December 13 (no meetings September 27 or November 22). There will be a
shared meal before every Circle meeting at 5pm.

Where: 285 North Dale Street, Saint Paul 55103 – at I-94.
Cost: sliding scale fee
Your participation would be most welcome.
